R&D Expenditures in Research Universities

UCLA, USC, and Caltech remain the top three universities in research and development (R&D) spending within Los Angeles County. Between 2007 and 2016, UCLA’s R&D expenditures increased by more than $183 million, USC by more than $174 million, and Caltech by more than $83 million. All three universities remain in the top tenth percentile for R&D expenditures in the country.
