Aggregate travel time to work for all commuters in Los Angeles County has rapidly  increased since 2010. Historically, travel time to work in Los Angeles County has only decreased during economic recessions.  Given that economic development and travel time to work are positively correlated for our sprawling region, solving long commute time poses an especially difficult challenge for regional leaders.

There is a direct link between life satisfaction and commute time according to a study from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
